More than a service 6

Service 6. Our most Blackpool fixated route runs from North to South, between Grange Park and Mereside via the heart of Blackpool. Most users travel on our service 6 to get to the big supermarkets, town or work. But it's more than that, it's actually a community-focused route with a whole host of parks, libraries and points of interest's to visit, such as...

Mereside Park

Starting your journey from Mereside Tesco where you’ll find its superstore, our local Police Headquarters, Matalan and Next. Mereside park is the first green space you'll see on this route, with plenty of flat grass for exercise and dog walks! You won't need to look far to connect to our service 3 or 3a to Cleveleys or catch our 18 to South Shore and town.

This image shows a traditional windmill with large blades, set against a blue sky. The windmill stands tall on a grassy area, with some houses and modern buildings in the background. The angle of the photo emphasizes the windmill's height, and the blades are clearly visible, casting a shadow on the side of the building. The environment looks peaceful and rural, creating a calm and scenic setting.

Little Marton Windmill

You may see it when you come into Blackpool. The Little Marton Windmill is almost 200 years old, first built in 1838 for the purpose of grinding corn, it now sits pretty just off Langdale Road. Trust me, it’s a lot bigger in person! Here’s its location.

Mereside Library

A community library on Langdale Road. Borrow a book, browse the internet or just enjoy the quiet space. Here’s its location.

Ascent Trampoline Park

This mega trampoline park is situated just off Clifton Road. Book yourself an hour’s slot to bounce, dunk and dive until you’re worn out. Bounce over 100 different trampoline pads, dunk your basketballs in true trampoline style and dive in cotton candy-like foam pits! Here’s its location.

The image shows a chalkboard sign that reads "Welcome to Revoe Park Community Garden" with an arrow pointing right. The background includes some greenery and flowers, and there is a metal fence visible behind the sign. The sign is welcoming people to the park's community garden, giving a sense of invitation to visit the area. The handwritten text adds a personal touch to the message.

Revoe Park

A community garden offering activities for children and adults to get involved in nature. A tight-knit team work hard to maintain this parks lovely garden. A play area perfect for exploring sits next to the garden too. It's even had a visit from royalty! Here’s its location

Revoe Library

Another local library to lose yourself in the thousands of books. This library is a big hit with young children, a circus-themed area fit with an interactive puppet stage will have you performing your best storytelling and acting skills. Here’s its location.

Talbot & Brunswick Children’s Centre

Located on Gorton Street, just off Caunce Street. This centre supports parents-to-be, parents and carers. A safe place for children to learn, grow and make friends as much as it is for adults. Here’s its location.

Kingscote Park

You’re spoiled for choice for parks on the 6 routes. Kingscote hosts a massive field, play park and a multi-use games area. (Perfect for football) Here's its location.

The image shows the entrance to "The Grange," with bright-colored flags (pink and blue) outside the building. In the foreground, there are flowers, possibly daisies, adding a touch of nature to the scene. The building is a modern structure with large windows and a sign that reads "The Grange" above the entrance. The flags and the bike near the entrance suggest that it may be a community or recreational center.

Layton

There's so much packed into a small area known as Layton, you won't need to venture far after hopping off the bus either. Their local library and green space are situated at Layton Square, with plenty of choices for international cuisine nearby from Greek and Turkish to a traditional chippy. If you fancy drinks, there are enough pubs ( and micro-pubs) to choose from. You can also connect here for our services 7a to Cleveleys and Blackpool via Bispham, 11 to Lytham and Blackpool Town Centre via St Annes and 14 to Fleetwood and Blackpool Town Centre.

The Grange

A community Centre in the heart of Grange, grab essentials from its shop or fresh-baked pies and cakes from the café. Looked after by the community, you can get involved with the garden! There are always events such as cookery sessions, kids clubs and art & crafts sessions to expand your skills. Get involved and see its location.
