Blackpool Tramway to launch winter timetable
1 week ago

With winter setting in, we are introducing a seasonally adjusted tram timetable from the end of this month.
During the day, service will continue to run up to every 10 minutes on sections of the network to meet customer demand, although there will be wider timetable changes to reflect winter travel patterns.
Customers can now expect four trams per hour direct along the mainline, and two per hour via North Station in each direction.
As a result of this change, there will be trams between Starr Gate and Pleasure Beach every 15 minutes, while North Station will see services every 30 minutes towards both Fleetwood Ferry and Starr Gate.
Jamie Swift, Head of Commercial at Blackpool Transport, explained: “We’ve carefully studied travel patterns over the last couple of winters, and taken into account passenger feedback, to draw up a timetable that meets customer needs.
“At the same time, this will enable us to carry out essential maintenance work during what is traditionally a quieter time of the year.”
The rescheduling of services from November 30 will also enable the operator to carry out its annual inspection programme and to prepare the tram fleet for the busy spring and summer months.
“Over the next few months, we will monitor the performance of this seasonal timetable as part of our planning for the year ahead and the busy summer season, when we hope to make further service enhancements,” Jamie added.
