Fylde coast adventure set to raise money for autism charity
1 month ago

A Tramtown volunteer and his support worker are planning an epic journey around the Fylde Coast to raise money for a charity supporting young people and adults with autism.
Travelling on the first tram out of Blackpool in the early hours of the morning of Tuesday, October 28, Brandon, who is autistic himself, and Steve will spend 16 hours exploring the area using our tram and bus services only.
Together they’ll visit, Fleetwood, St Annes, Knott End and many, many more well-known locations - and a few lesser-known spots - along the coast, and they’re inviting well-wishers to track their progress on Blackpool Transport’s social media channels.
Both Brandon is a familiar face at Tramtown, the home of Blackpool's world-famous heritage trams and throughout their fundraising efforts they’ll be supported by us at Blackpool Transport.
Hayley Gregory, Marketing Manager, explained: “Throughout their mini-adventure, we’ll be posting regular updates on their travels.
“Other volunteers at Tramtown, and colleagues here at Blackpool Transport are 100 per cent behind Brandon’s fundraising efforts for Autism Initiatives, a charity that’s doing so much to help people of all ages to live full and active lives.
“We would like to wish them both the best of luck, and can’t wait to see how they get on!”
