Bus Driver of The Year 2025

Despite the blustery start our Bus Driver of The Year Competition was a great success at the weekend. 

The annual competition saw many of our drivers battle it out in both practical and knowledge tests. 

The practical test took place on the promenade and put our drivers up against a range of obstacles which simulatea range of daily tasks that a bus driver encounters. The obstacles included stopping at bus stops correctly, driving up to petrol pumps and tail swing checks. The Drivers where then scored on how accurately they positioned their bus at each obstacle, as well as scored on their knowledge of driving theory and highway code in tests conducted back in the depot. The bus driver with the highest overall score was then crowned our Bus Driver of The Year.

The event was a celebration of the skill, dedication, and professionalism it takes to be a bus driver and the top two drivers from each operator can then take part in the national competition which takes place here in Blackpool in September. We can't wait to see Dinah and David compete in the national finals and wish them all the luck as they compete for the title of UK Bus Driver of The Year.
