Automatic App Verification

We’ve just made it even easier to get your account verified and start using your tickets. You don’t need to leave your seat.

So, you’ve got the app (check!) You’ve created your account (check!) and now you want to buy a ticket. If you’re under 16 years of age or aged between 16 and 21 years of age (or are buying for someone that is) then you’ll now see that you need to ‘verify’ your account by proving your age to be able to buy either your child, or young person ticket.

We’ve been able to do this via our Customer Centre, social media channels and via email but with our most recent update you won’t have to leave the couch (feel free to still get in touch though!).

In some easy steps our automated system will get you verified and ready to go.

Simply, upload your photo (as clear as possible or ‘passport photo’ style is preferable, we need to match you to your ID so no doggy ears!).

Next, our app will send you an email with a link for you to visit a page and upload a clear photo of your I.D. (We’re currently accepting pictures of passports, driving licence’s, birth certificates and any ID containing the PASS logo).

Phase number 3, well, there isn’t one! Voila! The system will do the rest.

It could take between 24 and 48 hours to get verified in the first instance but we’re sure it will be much quicker than this! Just set yourself a little bit of time just in case!

Pre-verification for Child & Young Person tickets from March 2023

You can now get verified without purchasing a Child or Young Person ticket via the Blackpool Transport mobile app.

If you are planning on travelling with us, pre-verification allows you to plan ahead without waiting for verification when you need our services.

To verify your account in advance, follow these simple steps:

  1. Select either a Child or Young Person ticket on the mobile app
  2. Click ‘Get Verified’
  3. Upload a clear photo of yourself
  4. An email will be sent with a link to upload your ID (Passport, driving license, birth certificate, any ID with the PASS logo)
  5. Once submitted, verification can take between 24 and 48 hours but can often be quicker
