Mobility Scooters on our Services

Travelling with a mobility scooter on our services? Here’s everything you need to know about what we allow on our vehicles.

Dimensions

We only accept Class 2 scooters that have no more than the following dimensions:

  • 60cm wide
  • 100cm long
  • 120cm turning radius

We do not accept Class 3 scooters which are not designed to be carried by bus. They can be identified by front/rear lights, hazard warning lights and a manual brake.

This image provides a comparison between Class 2 and Class 3 mobility scooters. Class 2 (left): Smaller scooter with a 100cm width, 60cm length, and a 120cm turning radius. It is allowed on pavements and has fewer safety features. Class 3 (right): Larger scooter with front/rear lights, hazard warning lights, and a manual brake. It has more advanced features but is not allowed on pavements. The key difference is that Class 2 scooters are designed for use on pavements, while Class 3 scooters are designed for road use.

Need a hand? We’ll come to you.

If you’re not sure if your mobility scooter meets our requirements, we can come to assess your scooter. If it fits our requirements, we can issue a pass that says your scooter is accepted on our services.

This will avoid any disputes as you’ll have an official pass to say your scooter is allowed onboard.
