Illuminations Travel Information
The illuminations are set to light up the sky in Blackpool from the 29th August this year. All of your travel information can be found here.
Customer update: On 10th, 11th, 17th and 18th October our normal illumination diversions will be affected by an event at the Winter Gardens, and services will now divert away from St Johns Square. Details on the routes they will take and town centre stopping locations can be found below.
Diversion Information during the St Johns Road Closure
On the 10th, 11th, 17th and 18th of October the following diversions will be in place from 6:30pm until end of service.

Full diversion routes during the St Johns Road Closure are as follows:
Service 3
Towards Cleveleys: Normal route.
Towards Mereside Tesco: Normal route to Dickson Road from there it will follow normal route.
Service 3a
Towards Cleveleys: Normal route.
Towards Mereside Tesco: Normal route to Dickson Road from there it will follow normal route.
Service 5/5a/5b
Towards Victoria Hospital: Normal Route to the mini roundabout at Gymnasium stop then turn right on to Grasmere Rd, left onto Condor Grove, left onto Park Rd, left onto Church St and right into Topping St, then turn right out of Topping St and continue along normal route.
Towards Halfway House: Normal route to Talbot Rd, turn left at Bickerstaff Sq. using the stop outside the post office. Then left at the lights and right onto Grosvenor St then via Park Rd and Reads Ave before normal route at Central Drive.
Service 6
Towards Grange Park: Normal route to Condor Grove roundabout, Right onto Condor Grove. At next set of lights left onto Park Rd and left onto Church St and right into Topping St, then turn right out of Topping St and continue along normal route.
Towards Mereside Tesco: Normal evening route to Church St, right onto Cookson St, George St, Buchanan St, Talbot Rd turn left at Bickerstaff Sq. using the stop outside the post office. Then left at the lights and right onto Grosvenor St then Park Rd and Reads Ave before normal route at Central Dr.
Service 7
Towards Blackpool: Normal Route to Talbot Rd, right onto High St onto Springfield, left onto Dickson Rd, stopping opposite Ma Kelly’s.
Towards Cleveleys: From Dickson Road, Left onto Talbot Road. Back on route.

Towards Blackpool: From Lytham Rd, right onto Tyldesley Road, right onto Rigby Road, left onto Central Drive at the mini roundabout at Gymnasium turn right on to Grasmere Rd, left onto Condor Grove, left onto Park Rd, left onto Church St and right into Topping St.
Towards Lytham: From Topping St, right up Talbot Rd, left onto Buchanan St and via Park Rd, onto Reads Ave, Central Dr, Rigby Rd and Tyldesley Road onto Lytham Road.
Service 11a
Towards Blackpool: Normal Route to the mini roundabout at Gymnasium stop then turn right on to Grasmere Rd, left onto Condor Grove, left onto Park Rd, left onto Church St and right into Topping St.
Towards Lytham: From Topping St, right up Talbot Rd, left onto Buchanan St and via Park Rd, onto Reads Ave, Central Dr. Back on route.
Service 11b
Towards Blackpool: Normal Route to the roundabout Ansdell Rd, right onto Condor Grove, left onto Park Rd and left onto Church St left onto Topping St where the service terminates.
Towards Lytham: From Topping St, left Talbot Rd, Buchanan St, George St, Grosvenor St, Park Rd, Reads Ave, and normal route from Central Drive.
Service 14
Towards Blackpool : Normal Route to Talbot Rd, right onto High St onto Springfield, left onto Dickson Rd, stopping opposite Ma Kelly’s.
Towards Fleetwood: From Dickson Road, Left onto Talbot Road. Back on route.
Service 18
Towards Blackpool: Normal route to Topping St to terminate.
Towards Victoria Hospital: From Topping St, right Talbot Rd to resume normal route.
Bus Diversion Information
There will be bus diversions in place during busy times to ensure we keep our customers moving. The bus diversions will affect services 3, 3A, 5, 5A, 5B, 5C, 6, 7, 7A, 11, 11A, 11B, 14.
Due to expected delays and planned events such as the Firework championships and Light Pool, diversions will be in place from 6:30pm every Friday and Saturday night between 30th August and 1st November.

To ensure our customers experience as little delays as possible, we may ‘switch on’ the illuminations diversions at other busy times as and when needed. We will only do this as required and will keep customers updated via our service update page and social media.
Town Centre Stopping locations
If you usually catch your bus from Blackpool town centre, when the illumination diversions are in place, where you catch your bus from may change.
The below table shows you where to catch your bus, and we will also be sign posting the main town centre stops which detail where to catch your bus.
